Jasper Reunion Trip - Day 6

This morning we had an opportunity to have church service with our family. We had a wonderful time of worship led by uncle Gar and then were blessed by a great message from uncle Al. He used scripture from 2 Kings 2 and spoke on "passing the baton" from one generation to the next. He pointed out how it was each of our responsibilities to not only grow closer to the LORD ourselves, but to make sure that we teach the next generations to follow His Word as well.

After lunch we said our "goodbyes" and headed off. We traveled about 5 1/2 hours to finally arrive at the Western Slope Vietnam War Memorial Park in Fruita, CO. The memorial is a beautiful tribute to those who may have never been thanked for their service or sacrifice. It also serves as a "Welcome Home" to those who were fortunate enough to make it back. We were able to take a bunch of pictures of the helicopter and sculptures and also had a chance to explain the "basics" of what our soldiers sometimes have to give to secure our freedom (in so much as a five year old can understand). It was a great chance to explain to Joy why we need to have the utmost respect for our men in uniform.

Shortly after the visit to the memorial, we checked into the La Quinta directly across the street (which was the same one we stayed at on the way out to Colorado).

Tomorrow its off to Mesquite.
